Around the 9th Arrondissement

Today, I went to the Gustave Moreau museum.  It's in his old home/studio.  The first floor is his own art collection, office, etc.

The upstairs is his studio. I am not sure the pictures fully indicate how huge his studio was.  It was easily two stories tall.
Then, up an enormous, awesomely twisty stairway, there was another set of rooms full of his work, also two stories tall.

His work is quite a mix of styles, only some of which I care for (the ones that seem like they weren't finished...), but it seemed like exactly the sort of museum I wouldn't normally go to on a short trip.  The amount of art on the walls is kind of #lifegoals for me.
I then walked down the Rue des Martyrs (not pictured) and, because it was raining again, went into Printemps, which is an enormous department store (like, 9 stories and three buildings).
The view was, although grey, very lovely.
And, the USA needs to step up its apple juice game, apparently.

Also, fun fact, the street/train stop that I am currently living on (Parmentier) is named after an army pharmacist who helped popularize how wonderful potatoes are as a nutritional source.  There is a multi-panel write up in the subway, including some historical information about Peru.

And I leave you with this ad, which I would translate as something like, "Freedom. Equality. Beautiful butts."
