Knitting: This Time, with Actual Patterns

Knit 2 Together: Patterns and Stories for Serious Knitting Fun by Tracey Ullman & Mel Clark

Somehow I didn't realize this when I got the book, but Mel Clark is the owner of my local yarn store, Wildfiber. I really like the store, although it's often a bit beyond my means. The layout is very nice & they have a nice sale room. The staff is varying levels of friendly, but I prefer to be left alone, so it's fine with me.

The book is really good. I found many patterns that I was inspired by. I doubt that I'd make many of them, because I tend to design my own stuff. But there were several cardigans that I really liked, one of which had a sort of '50s feel. There was a baby hoodie/blanket combo that was adorable. Although most baby things are: they are, after all, modeled by babies.

I also really liked this creamy shrug, edged in lace. I would really consider following the pattern to end up with it. Although it's a bit unclear when in my life I'd have occasion to wear something like it.

I don't know that I'll buy this, but I'm sure I'll get it out from the library again.

This is a neat book-I saw at our library, too. How cool that the author is at the store in which you selected your very first yarn!

I love the sweater you showed, too. The lace looks crocheted? Is it?
