I just finished up The Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs last night. It was quite good; I enjoyed it. Like the Knitting Circle, it is about a group of women who get together and knit and chat and somehow their lives are improved.
The Knitting Circle was better written, but I think I enjoyed the plot of the Friday Night Knitting Club more -- it was a bit less gloom and doom. People had problems, yes, but not everyone. Although, it did take a bit of a sadder turn than I was prepared for.

I will add this to my list. I have already reserved The Knitting Circle at the library.
