"The next morning, a Monday, was their twenty-second morning in Gutshot, and indubitably the worst."

An Abundance of Katherines by John Green

This is another young adult novel, also about a disaffected young man. This one is a prodigy -- not a genius, which is what he's dealing with. He's also dealing with being dumped by his girlfriend Katherine. The 19th such Katherine to do so. He decides to (a) go on a road trip and (b) come up with a mathematical formula to describe the fate of any given romantic relationship.

It was a good novel. I liked the writing, and the characters were funny and realistic. For weird prodigies, that is.

I love, love, love the cover; doesn't each Katherine really look like she has her own personality?
