This is the Max Barry who wrote Jennifer Government and Company. I guess the double x was supposed to be a bit of a joke on TJMaxx.

As usual, it was a funny book and a satire on corporate culture. More specifically on marketing this time. It's about a young man who comes up with a great soda idea and tries to market it to Coke. They buy it, but he is outmaneuvered and doesn't become rich after all.

So he has to come up with another idea. And another. All the time he is working with his love interest/partner/competitor, 6. There's soda and Hollywood and intrigue.
