Zuni

On our recent trip to San Francisco, we went to several amazing restaurants: Chez Panisse Cafe, La Folie, Tartine Bakery (a personal favorite that I've visited many times)....

But at only one were we equipped with a camera: Zuni Cafe.
What a pretty restaurant. And we had an amazing pizza:

It was mozzarella and asiago cheese, with mushrooms. The unexpected touch was the fresh lemon zest on top. It took the pizza to a whole different level. I would never have thought to do that, but since coming home we've tried it. It's worth adding to your repertoire.

This picture is of another dish we ordered: asparagus, eggs, butter beans and onions. It was good, but not amazing. It looks beautiful, though, and gives a sense of what the atmosphere was like. Very clean and white. The restaurant is lovely: an old, triangular building with huge windows and a zinc bar. I will definitely be going back.
